THIS IS: LOUPE. Fresh on their UK tour.

Loupe is the indie band EVERYONE needs to add to their playlists. We saw them live on January 31st at Komedia in Brighton, and what a show it was!

Loupe, an Indie band from Berlin and Amsterdam is here to make their mark, and they are doing it right. Following their recent visit to the UK supporting Lovejoy, they returned to Brighton and performed an incredible show. In the comfort of Komedia’s Studio room, the crowd was full of excited fans ready for great music.

Opening the show was the incredible Opal Mag, having their debut show supporting Loupe, but you would never be able to guess from their performance. They got the crowd moving and ready for the main act with a great 90’s grunge-style vibe.

Loupe entered the stage and the crowd erupted as they started playing ‘Warning Sign.’ The whole show was filled with happiness and joy as the band continued to play old and new songs. Lead singer, Nina Ouattara filled the stage with constant groove along to the music. Guitarist Abel truly looked like a rockstar, Lana smashed the bass and Annemarie kept the show in beat on the drums. Through their performance, you can tell how tight of a group they all are and just how passionate about their songs they are.

Near the end of the show, the band gave Annemarie a break on the drums to bring out a special guest. Mark Boardman. The drummer of Lovejoy was met with excited cheers from the crowd as Loupe burst into a cover of his band’s song ‘Call Me What You Like.’ This was a nice little dedication to the fact they had recently Supported Lovejoy on two of their tours.

Overall, Loupe put on an incredible show, after a series of support shows in the UK it was a real treat to get to watch a full headline show from this band, we can say that if you have the chance to watch them, catch them quick in these intimate venues because it won’t be long until they are selling bigger shows that will sell out fast.
